When you need to know…

When you’re tired, forget the world and sleep, sleep deeply. I will watch over you in your dreams

When you’re scared, don’t close your eyes and hide, open them up wide and leap, and know that I will catch you if you fall

When you’re lonely, know that you are not alone, because I will always be with you

When you feel unloved, know that you are always loved, because I love you

When you need to talk, I will listen to you

When you need to hear something, I will find the words for you

When it’s dark for you, I will help you find the light

When you doubt yourself, know that I have faith in you

When mountains stand before you, know that I will help you climb them

When you feel threatened, know I will protect you

When you feel ugly, know that you are beautiful to me in every way

When you are sad, know that I will feel it with you, and I am there for you

When you are happy, know that I will share your joy and celebrate

When you are lost, know that I will help you find your way back

When you feel unappreciated, know that I feel lucky to have you in my life

When your dreams feel far away, know that I am proud of who you are

When you feel forgotten, know that I will be thinking of you

I will dance with you until the stars burn out in the sky above us, and the moon begins to fade

I love you with my whole heart and soul, and whatever may happen in this world or the next, I will be right there beside you.

  1. I’m thinking about your beautiful poem ‘Longing’ and wondering if you’ve ever considered writing musical lyrics?

Also, for the sake of contrast, I’m wondering if you’ve ever heard this song:

The composers wrote it keeping in mind what they would literally be willing to do for the one they love – literally. Seriously, literally. It is HEEEEELarious!
